In view of the current floods in parts of Germany and Belgium, the Minister General announced that the Chapter would be sending a message to the President of the Federal Republic of Germany and to the King of the Belgians, as an assurance of solidarity and prayer.
The Assembly concluded their work on Chapter Orientations and Mandates, amendments to Statutes, and the Draft Message. In addition, presentations for the day included the report of the Chapter Finance Commission, the Institute of Franciscan Spirituality at the Pontifical University Antonianum, Il Cantico Hotel and Foundation, and a sharing of the Friars’ presence and mission in Morocco.
A convivial evening of fraternity on the final evening day of the Chapter was celebrated at Il Cantico, with a leisurely al fresco dinner on the terrace with a spectacular view of the Dome of St Peter’s Basilica.
